Oak Ridge Rotary Clubs Sponsor the

2012 Four-Way Test Speech Contest

The three Rotary Clubs in Oak Ridge are sponsoring a speech contest for 9-12 graders residing or attending school in Oak Ridge. Cash awards of $500, $350, and $150 will go to the top three contestants and the first place winner can compete in a District competition for the chance to win $2000, $1500, or $1000 in scholarships.

The Four-Way Test is a test used by Rotarians world-wide as a moral code for personal and business relationships.

The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say, or do:

1.    Is it the truth?

2.    Is it fair to all concerned?

3.    Will it build goodwill and better friendships?

4.    Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Each contestant will present a 4-6 minute speech to apply the Four-Way Test to the concepts of leadership, service, and life experiences.
