Oak Ridge Rotary Clubs Sponsor the
2012 Four-Way Test Speech Contest
The three Rotary Clubs in Oak Ridge are sponsoring a speech contest for 9-12 graders residing or attending school in Oak Ridge. Cash awards of $500, $350, and $150 will go to the top three contestants and the first place winner can compete in a District competition for the chance to win $2000, $1500, or $1000 in scholarships.
The Four-Way Test is a test used by Rotarians world-wide as a moral code for personal and business relationships.
The Four-Way Test of the things we think, say, or do:
1. Is it the truth?
2. Is it fair to all concerned?
3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Each contestant will present a 4-6 minute speech to apply the Four-Way Test to the concepts of leadership, service, and life experiences.

Registered contestants will receive a copy of "Guidelines for Contestants". The contest will be Monday, February 27 at 5:30PM at the Flatwater Grill. Families are welcome to attend the event which will be held at The Sunset Rotary Club's normal location and meeting time. Guests from the Breakfast Rotary Club and Rotary Club of Oak Ridge will also be attending. The local winner will go on to compete in the Rotary District 6780 competition on March 24 in Cookeville, TN.
